Tips & Tricks to solve problems around the house....
In Sink Garbage Disposal Housekeeping Help
We answered a call the other day that reminded me to share this tip. Have you ever had your garbage disposal stop abruptly. I know of two possible solutions to this dilemma. There are often reset buttons (usually red) on the disposal unit under the sink. If, this doesn’t do the trick, believe it or not you’ll need a broom. Take the handle end and put down into the drain and wedge against the disposal blades. Bring the handle around in a circle pushing against the jammed blades. Brute force will free the blades. You may have to use the reset button, as well.
HELPFUL TIPS AND IDEAS... It always surprising how quickly I can get excited over a good idea. Especially, if, it makes my world a better place. Here we would like to share som things that work for us. Some are temporary solutions, others have stood the test of time.
Laundry can be a difficult chore to share with the whole household. It can be over- whelming for one person to do, especially, when some members are in sports and others work Dirty Jobs. I ask my family to put all their soiled laundry in hampers and take their clothes and put them away. We have labeled hampers and each of us has a basket for clean laundry. This has made it easier for every one to pitch in. I have laundry instructions by the washer. I'll add them here later.
In our main living area I am often bothered by the clutter left by my
family. I have begun many days by spending an hour cleaning up my own
area. And that's just organizing the clutter. I have devised a way to
make this problem easier to deal with and eliminated the need to ask
where I put this or that. These basket known as "cubbies" to my kin
are for each family member. I put left belongings in there. Every now
and then they require cleaning out. Wow! It's like Christmas.

Another little thing we have tried that has helped control clutter, as well as, improved our chances of remembering vitamines each day. In a bread box we have our vitamines. I have shot glasss filled with multi-vitamines, b-complex and Glycosamine Pills. There is echinacia there and blue green algea, if, we need it. This was a tidy solution to all the bottles on the counter or forgotten in the medicine cabinet. Convienently located near the breakfast table.
We try to keep healthy snack choices readily at hand so we will have an apple instead of chips or something else.
